advantages Trade publishing: Distribution, bigger sales and lower cost of books
Trade publication includes distribution to bookstores and libraries. POD published books are available to bookstores, but not distributed.
POD books are digitally printed and therefore more expensive to print per unit than offset printing .Offset printing is usually higher quality.
Publication times: POD authors can expect to have books available to purchase in as little as 12-16 weeks. Trade publishing is scheduled according to traditional publishing timelines and takes between 5 to 12 months. |
